BBC Radio 1 Tours 2000 - 2005

In 2000, BBC Radio 1 and Arts Council England asked Charles to travel with BBC Radio 1 as their Artist-in-Residence. Challenged to create a visual component for the UK’s leading youth radio broadcaster, he suggested they hand over their live event video screens to his trusted care – and they answered with an enthusiastic “Yes!” Five years later, Kriel was still blazing a trail from Ibiza to Miami by way of the UK’s biggest festivals, having become BBC Radio 1’s first and only Resident VJ. Both performances and lifestyle branding experiences, Kriel’s VJ mixes are known throughout Clubland and broadcasting for their aesthetic and technological innovation.
